Hartlepool New Deal for Communities

» View pages in this section

The New Deal for Communities (NDC) Programme brought £53.7 million of Government investment to West Central Hartlepool between 2001 and 2011. Part of the national strategy for Neighbourhood Renewal, the NDC Programme aimed to tackle the problems of the most deprived neighbourhoods, and placed local residents at the centre of the decision making process.

The NDC Partnership approved funding for over 130 projects, which were designed to improve housing and the environment, reduce crime, tackle worklessness, improve health, and raise educational attainment.

A commemorative document, 'Hartlepool New Deal for Communities: 10 Years of Memories and Change' is available to download here. More detailed information, copies of project appraisals and project evaluations can be obtained by contacting the Regeneration Team at Hartlepool Borough Council.
