How to Get Involved

» View pages in this section

There are many different ways to get involved in Hartlepool . The following pages are aimed to provide you with information about some of these different roles and how you can get started.

As a citizen you have the right to get involved in decisions that affect you and your community. This might sound daunting at first but becoming involved in local decision making can mean anything from attending a local meeting, taking part in public consultation, standing for election as a councillor, governor, or board member, right the way through to becoming an MP.

By becoming involved in the local decisions that affect your community you can help to shape your area and the services within it. You often do not even need to have any qualifications to take part and it is entirely up to you how much time you put in.

For information about the different roles and how you can get started view the Profiles page.

If you would like to see how other people are involved or for ideas of what being involved entails please see the Case studies page.
