About the Housing Partnership

The Housing Partnership's aim is to develop and monitor strategies to "Ensure that there is access to good quality and affordable housing in sustainable neighbourhoods and communities where people want to live."

The Partnership includes the Council, Registered Social Landlords, the Private Property Sector, the Voluntary Sector and Residents.  Working with a range of partners, the Housing strategies link with wider policies in the town to tackle issues of common concern, such as improving the social, economic and environmental wellbeing of the area, providing a range of housing and the regeneration of deprived neighbourhoods.

The Housing Partnership's strategic priorities are looking at balancing housing supply and demand, improving the quality of existing housing, adapting to changing housing needs, meeting the housing needs of vulnerable people and improving access to housing.  These key areas of work link to its responsibility to produce, monitor and deliver the Housing Strategy.

The Housing Partnership is chaired by a member of the Hartlepool Partnership and meets four times a year. The Partnership members report to their individual Boards and statutory authorities and they agree how funding is distributed to support regeneration schemes and other activities across Hartlepool.
